Is Dr. Lehman licensed by the State?

Yes, Dr. Lehman is licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Florida Board of Health. Her license number is SS 1142.

What level of education does Dr. Lehman have?

Dr. Lehman has a doctorate in School Psychology specializing in infant mental health and etiology of psychopathology. In addition to her doctorate, she has four master’s degrees: social agency counseling, teaching PK- 3rd grade, special education and school psychology.

What are Dr. Lehman’s areas of expertise?

While studying and researching the etiology of psychopathology, Dr. Lehman spent 16 years working with behavioral disorders and psychosis in young children, adolescents and their families. She attributes her success in working with individuals and families to understanding the combination of genetics and the family system. That system can be as few as one other person or as many as are in relationship with the patient. Her areas of specialty are relationships, divorce, substance abuse, trauma and mediation. She facilitates groups for those affected by trauma and/or substance abuse and conducts psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations for both children and adults.

What insurance plans does Dr. Lehman accept?

Dr. Lehman is currently an in-network provider for Cigna Behavioral Health and an out-of-network provider for Florida Blue. If you will be out of network or private pay, a superbill will be provided to you to submit to your insurance provider.
 

While Dr. Lehman is not a medical doctor, does she work with a psychiatrist or other physician who manages the medication?

Some patients who see Dr. Lehman have already been prescribed medication by their psychiatrist or other physician. Other patients prefer to try psychotherapy first without medication. Dr. Lehman will refer out to a psychiatrist either upon a patient’s request for a medication trial or when deemed medically necessary.
 

Does Dr. Lehman have a cancelation policy?

Yes, a grace period is provided for missing one appointment or canceling one appointment within 24 hours. After this grace period, missed appointments or canceled appointments within 24 hours will be billed.
 

In cases of emergency, does Dr. Lehman have an “on-call” system?

Yes. Patients are directed to call 911 or to go to the nearest emergency room should a crisis arise. Upon arrival to the emergency room, patients are asked if they have a treatment provider. Patients will provide her name and telephone number. The attending physician/psychiatrist will notify her of the patient’s condition and course of treatment.
